"EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert" 収録曲 (from "ElvisToday.com") (Updated) Film starts with some American Trilogy and Historical/Biographical passages - not overlong, so doesn’t grate and is helpful to the audience re: Ed Sullivan, Army clips induction, Hy Gardner, Blue Suede Shoes screen test - just visual no sound, some a Dorsey Brothers show clips, Army press conferences, movie synopsis to the sound of Edge Of Reality - fancy, neat and well done - nothing new I’m afraid. Rehearsal, "Oh Happy Day", "I've Lost You" and more 　約20年前に流出した映像より、 「オー・ハッピー・ディ」その他。 　エルヴィスは「オー・ハッピー・ディ」を ステージでも一度 歌ってます。 1970年8月14日の ミッドナイト・ショーです。 このショーは スーパー・ファンの バージニア・クーンズさんにより録音され、 50年近く前から 広く出回っています。 August 14, 1970 - Midnight Show (Full Show) (クーンズさんが録音したテープ) 　(43:20辺りから "Oh Happy Day") 　以前にも書きましたが、「8月14日のミッドナイト・ショー」は、 MGMが オーケストラの背後から 客席を撮影し、 その映像は 「オン・ステージ、オリジナル版」の 各所に使われました。 私の知る限り "Love Me Tender, Polk Salad Annie, All Shook Up - Blue Suede Shoes - One Night, Suspicious Minds - Can't Help Falling In Love" の映像が流出しており、 これらの映像の全てに、 音が付いているのです。 と言うことは、 「8月14日のミッドナイト・ショー」は フル・ショーが MGMにより録音されていた 可能性がありますし、 「オー・ハッピー・ディ」の部分も カメラで撮影されていた 可能性があります。 　バージニア・クーンズさんは「8月14日のディナー・ショー」の録音も 試されたのですが、 失敗したそうです。 このショーで エルヴィスは 珍しく「キャトル・コール」を 歌ったので、 クーンズさんは 録音できなかったことを とても悔やんでおられました。

"EPiC; Elvis Presley in Concert" WORLD PREMIERE at TIFF 6th Sept in the Princess Of Wales Theatre, Tronto (Canada) Oh Happy Day (ワールド・プレミア、 日本時間：9月7日、午前3時45分〜) Baz Luhrmann returns to the subject of his most audacious film - 2022’s Elvis - with the extraordinary EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert. Free of contemporary interviews with experts, critics or other stakeholders, the film is propelled by recently discovered archival footage shot at the beginning of the famed performer’s Las Vegas residency. Originally intended to last a few weeks at the International Hotel, the 1969 engagement was shockingly lucrative, and stretched on for over seven years. Brilliantly compiled with an aficionado’s enthusiasm and sensitivity, the film shifts skilfully between rehearsals, where Presley is cheerful, hard-working, even goofy, and live performances that vary from powerful and grandiose to rushed. There are moments where he can’t keep up with the breakneck arrangements and loses his breath. (He was booked to do at least two shows most days.) Among the standouts are “Poke Salad Annie” and “Burning Love,” a chart-topper he cut in early 1972. There are also cutaways to an army of excited celebrities attending the shows and a nod to Presley’s journey from scandalous hip-shaker to showbiz icon. Luhrmann’s previous feature stressed Presley manager Colonel Tom Parker’s disastrous impact on his client’s artistic growth and ability to tour internationally. Here, the focus lands on Presley’s musicianship and his interactions with band members and singers. What’s revealed is his deep knowledge of gospel, blues, and country traditions, and his instinctive feel for finding the best arrangements and pace for his songs. This is perhaps the most poignant account of Presley to date.

Dinner Show, August 14, 1970 　今回 出てきました赤いスカーフの映像について調べました。 これは 1970年8月14日のディナー・ショーで 撮影されたものと 分かりました。 エルヴィスが着ているのは "Metal Eye" というシンプルなデザインの ジャンプスーツで、 この時に着たのが 初めてだったようです。 　「オン・ステージ」のスチール写真の中に、 この時に撮影されたものが 数枚見つかりました。 何しろ白黒写真だし、 エルヴィスの背中だけでは、 判らないのも当然です。 　8月14日は、オーケストラの背後に やぐらを組み建て、 映画撮影用のカメラをセットして、 エルヴィスの背中ごしに 客席を中心に撮影されました。 「オン・ステージ、スペシャル・エディション」の エルヴィスの ステージ登場シーンで ちらっと出てきた映像、 この部分（登場から 「ザッツ・オールライト」の歌い出しまで） だけは唯一 流出した映像の中に 入ってました。 　ちなみに「オン・ステージ、オリジナル版」に多く出てくる エルヴィスの背中ごしに 客席を映した映像は 8月14日の ミッドナイト・ショーで 撮影されたものです。
