Lightyear Entertainment Releases Two Elvis Concerts;
Best Sellers on DVD for the First Time

New York, NY - Arnie Holland, President of Lightyear Entertainment, announces the April 25th release of two ELVIS PRESLEY videos, on DVD for the first time: Aloha From Hawaii, Via Satellite and The Alternate Aloha Concert. Both packages feature audio in true 5.1. VHS versions were re-released this past August 31st. Lightyear Entertainment is distributed in the U.S by Warner Home Video, and in Canada by Koch International.
Aloha From Hawaii, Via Satellite, the historic 1973 television special, features PRESLEY at the pinnacle of his superstardom, giving one of the most outstanding concert performances of his career. The show includes 25 of ELVIS' greatest hits, including "No More," a special bonus song not included on the original telecast. This remains the best selling ELVIS concert on video of all time in the Lightyear library of PRESLEY releases.
The Alternate Aloha Concert was a full dress rehearsal concert held and shot at the Honolulu International Center two days prior to the historic 1973 television special. It is an intimate opportunity to share in the energy and excitement of this great and magical entertainer at the threshold of a monumental event in his career, and contains 18 of ELVIS' greatest hits.
Both videos received state-of-the-art digital audio and video enhancement in a labor of love, supervised by the PRESLEY family. The sound was first remixed, going back to the original multitrack tapes, and then mastered in digital 5.1, Dolby surround sound. Finally, every frame of the picture was digitally corrected and optimized.
"I was amazed by the improvement in quality," said Arnie Holland, CEO of Lightyear Entertainment. "ELVIS fans are going to want these new versions even if they already have the old ones."
Aloha From Hawaii and The Alternate Aloha Concert are the second and third of five ELVIS programs available through Lightyear to be released on DVD. The first DVD, Elvis '56, was released February 22. The video / DVD release of the new version of THAT'S THE WAY IT IS
will now not come out in July.
Instead, it will first be shown on American TV in August of this year (a 90 minute version), and after that a longer version will be released on video and DVD. This should contain many rarities, including the version of 'Are You Lonesome Tonight' that we've now seen in ELVIS THE CONCERT. It's been suggested by some that this version has been edited, but that's not true - it really is this short, unfortunately. It's expected that these releases will mainly concentrate on the live performances, as they feel that the rehearsal material is a little rough sound-wise. Just got all this news from Ernst Jorgensen.

I got a response from Trimark yesterday on the question of a DVD release on Loving You. They said there are no plans in the near future but they will begin negotiations toward the end of the year for the DVD version. (Taylor) Remastered video of "LOVING YOU" will be released on Feb.8 in U.S.A. Order it from amazon.com. 「さまよう青春」ビデオ再発 映画「さまよう青春」がリマスターされビデオにて再発売。

Re-releases on Apr.21,2000 in Japan are DVD's of

Previously released from MGM/UA Home Video in 1997.

「監獄ロック」「エルビス・オン・ステージ」のＤＶＤが再発売されます。 この３月にＭＧＭ-ＵＡとの発売契約が切れるため　どうなるのかなと思ったら ４月２１日にワーナーから再発売されます。多分、全く同じモノでしょう。
