高島産地は、琵琶湖からの水資源が豊かで、古くより綿織物の生産が盛んなところです。
滋賀県の北西部に位置しており、工業用資材、帆布という厚いものから、私どもが扱っている
パジャマ、肌着、浴衣などに用いるような薄い綿生地素材までを作る産地です。

その厚いもの、薄いものの両方の素材に共通するのが「撚糸（ねんし）｣という技術です。

その撚糸技術を活かした綿糸を用いた「綿クレープ」「綿楊柳」「高島ちぢみ」などを中心とした
確かな製織技術に裏打ちされた平織生地、浴衣生地、ドビー織生地などが杉岡織布の製品です。

また、産地内の同業者さんと「高島いろは」というブランドを立ち上げ、自分達で作ったものを
直に消費者の皆さまにお届けするという活動もしております。

元来メーカーである我々が自分達でデザインし、モノを作り、販売するという作業は並大抵の
ことではありませんが、そのことによって得られる経験・情報・知識は計り知れないものがあり
ます。

その事が本業の生地作り･製品作りに付加価値を与えることは勿論、地域で製造業を営む
上での新たな価値も創造することを確信しております。

そしてそれらの行為が、産地としての生き残りにつながると信じて頑張っております。

Infomation

　The Takashima home is a point where which the water resource from Biwako is rich, old, and the production of cotton textiles or more is active.

It is located in the northwest of Shiga Prefecture, and it is done that the thin cotton cloth material used from industrial materials and thick sailcloth for pajamas, the underwear, and the YUKATA, etc. that we have treated is made at the point of production.

It is the thick one, and common to both materials is technologies "Twine " though it is thin.

The supported plain weave cloth, the yukata cloth, and ..dobby.. ground, etc. are products of our company in a certain weaving technology that centers on "Cotton crape", "Cotton YORYU", and "Takashima CHIZIMI", etc. that use cotton yarn that makes the best use of the twine technology.

Moreover, the brand same trade person in the home and "Takashima IROHA" is started up, what made for myself is sent to consumers personally, and the activity said then is done.

The experience, information, and the knowledge obtained by that have the inscrutable one though work of our originally the manufacturer designing by ourselves, making the thing, and selling it is not the medium grade most.

It is convinced to create new value manufacturing is managed in the region to say nothing of the thing's giving the additional value to the cloth making and the product making of the profession.

And, it is believed that those acts are connected with alive the remainder as the home and works hard.

原料である綿糸を商社さんから買い、自家織布工場で製織して、生地商社さんなどに販売している会社です。

また、地元生地整理加工業者であります　高島晒協業組合で生地を委託加工あるいは自口加工した上での販売もしております。
2010年5月より、アパレルウェブさんのご協力により、テキスタイルブログを開始いたします。

　高島地区のご説明

滋賀県の琵琶湖に面した北西部のエリアが高島市です。平成17年1月1日、旧高島郡のマキノ町、今津町、朽木村、安曇川町、高島町、新旭町の5町1村が合併して誕生しました。

人口：　約56000人

面積：　約550平方㎞
（滋賀県で一番広い市でしたが、長浜市の広域化で2番目に・・・)

主な産業：扇子・扇骨、繊維産業、硯・筆、和ろうそく、淡水魚、酒、その他

主な交通網：当社のある新旭地域へはJR湖西線にてJR京都駅から近江今津・敦賀方面へ約1時間（快速なら45分)。

お車の場合は、北陸道木之本ICより303号線と161号線を経由して約50分、名神道京都東ICより1号線、湖西道路、161号線を経由して約1時間20分。
