Elvis, Back In Nashville (4-CD)

What turned out to be Elvis Presley’s final Nashville session brought music that was originally overlooked. The original recordings found their way on the holiday themed Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas (1971), the gospel He Touched Me (1972), Elvis Now (1972) and Elvis (1973). Yet, to hear this music, a half century after it was recorded - now wiped of overdubs - reveals some of the most compelling singing of Presley’s career. There may not be a better set of tracks in his catalog that benefits more from un-dubbing the masters. No longer weighted down, Elvis shines. Available on 4 CD’s.

エルヴィス・プレスリー最後のナッシュヴィル・セッション50周年を記念した決定版 『エルヴィス・バック・イン・ナッシュヴィル』 （CD4枚組ボックスセット）

『エルヴィス・バック・イン・ナッシュヴィル』には、 エルヴィスとミュージシャンが スタジオ内で生演奏しながら、 のちに発売するための主要楽曲や パフォーマンスを録音している姿をとらえた 82曲のオリジナル録音が 手付かずの状態で 収録されている。 これらの貴重なセッションは、 エルヴィス最後のナッシュヴィル録音を 時系列でとらえている。 1971年のナッシュヴィルにおける スタジオ録音の一部は、 オーケストラや ヴォーカルのオーヴァーダブを施したものが 季節商品の 『初めてのクリスマス (Elvis Sings the Wonderful World of Christmas)』(1971年)、 グラミー賞を受賞したゴスペル・アルバム『至上の愛 (He Touched Me)』(1972年)、 『エルヴィス・ナウ』(1972年)、 『フール (Elvis)』(1973年)に収録された。

前作『フロム・エルヴィス・イン・ナッシュヴィル』(2020年11月発売)と同様、 『エルヴィス・バック・イン・ナッシュヴィル』は エルヴィス・プレスリーと 彼のメインのバンドの、 実際のセッションそのままの姿をとらえており、 オーケストラのオーヴァーダブや ヴォーカルは伴っていない。 エルヴィスが1970年と1971年に ナッシュヴィルで行ったセッションの主な違いは、 1971年の録音には バッキング・シンガーの声が入っているものが多いということ。 したがって 『エルヴィス・バック・イン・ナッシュヴィル』には ヴォーカルが増強されているものと いないもの両方の楽曲が多種多様収録されることになる。

ディスク3：「ジョニー・B・グッド」や 「レディ・マドンナ」の即興パフォーマンス 、ボブ・ディランの「くよくよするなよ [Don't Think Twice, It's Alright]」 の壮大なテイク、 「ひとりぼっちの夜 [Help Me Make It Through The Night]」、 「朝の雨[Early Morning Rain]」の新鮮な解釈など、 ディスク1の カントリー・ポップのレパートリーに ロックンロールの風味を加えた計19曲を収録。

FTD Books is pleased to present "Love Me Tender - Through The Lens of Robert Vose".
Pal Granlund and David English visited the 20th Century-Fox Studios archive a few years ago, which turned out to be a great experience.
These stunning photos taken by Robert Vose - most of them unseen and unpublished since September 1956 - reveal life on the film set with director Robert D. Webb, his cast and crew.

The book includes two CDs:
Disc 1: The original EP, Outtakes, Stereo Masters and The Truth About Me interview.
Disc 2: The 13 recordings made on Radio Recorders between September 1-3, 1956.
